South Africa coach, Hugo Broos has come out to say that he is proud of Bafana Bafana winning bronze at AFCON 2023. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he was already proud of the boys after the game vs Super Eagles, and he was pleased with the great mentality they showed vs DR Congo despite playing with tired legs.
Broos added that the players did what was asked of them throughout the tournament, and third place is not a bad finish.
His words, “I said after the Nigeria match that I was proud of this team, and I think people can see why I say I am proud of this team.
The boys did very well. They showed great mentality. They tried to do what I asked, and I understood that it was difficult.
It shows that if we have problems, we can count on those who are on the bench. I was satisfied with the players on the pitch, but I was even more satisfied with those [we introduced].
They were encouraging them and pushing them. From this, you know that you have 23 guys who want one thing and that is winning.”
