On Thursday, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, sent an apology to the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, in an effort to bring an end to the political crisis that has been plaguing the state over the past few months.
Aiyedatiwa expressed regret over the turn of events in the state and confessed that the news coming out of the state in the past few weeks have been unsettling. She also expressed sadness over the turn of events in the state.
Aiyedatiwa emphasised his dedication to Akeredolu and his unshakable commitment to the development and advancement of the state while speaking during an interactive session with journalists in the state.
In addition to stressing that tensions need to be defused, the Deputy Governor of the Sunshine State emphasised how important it is to bring back calm and harmony to the state.
Also, Aiyedatiwa praised Akeredolu for his intervention and efforts in convincing the members of the Ondo State House of Assembly to accept a political solution presented by the party that is currently in power, the All Progressives Congress, or APC.
He rejected every accusation that was being spread about him, which he alleged were being spread by people who were desperate to remove him from power before the election for governorship in 2024.
Aiyedatiwa further indicated that he is not affiliated with any of the groups or persons that are planning demonstrations or calling for the governor’s resignation. He emphasised that he has never given anybody permission to begin such campaigns. Aiyedatiwa also stated that he has never permitted anyone to begin such campaigns.
“Our cherished state has been a witness to a series of events that were triggered by the health challenges faced by Mr. Governor. These events gave rise to misunderstandings, misconceptions, assumptions, and insinuations, all of which were exploited by political contenders who are getting ready for the upcoming 2024 gubernatorial election. “Our beloved state has observed a series of events that were triggered by the health challenges faced by Mr. Governor.
“It is in reference to the aforementioned that I hereby tender my unreserved apologies to Mr. Governor and the good people of Ondo State, and I assure you that, together, we will both complete this journey with honour, divine guidance, and in good health by the grace of God.” “It is in reference to the aforementioned that I hereby tender my unreserved apologies to Mr. Governor and the good people of Ondo State.”
