The Imo State government has refuted claims of forwarding a list of seven commissioner nominees to the House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, describing the purported ‘second batch’ as fake.
In a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku, the government clarified that no such list exists.
The statement, issued on Monday, highlighted that the office did not issue any press statement on the matter.
Governor Hope Uzodimma’s spokesperson denounced the use of his name in the fake list, emphasizing that the governor is committed to a transparent process in selecting nominees.
The statement criticized the dissemination of false information on social media and urged the public to disregard such actions.
The statement concluded by affirming Governor Uzodimma’s dedication to selecting individuals who align with the vision for Imo State’s development, emphasizing that there would be no compromise on the selection process.
