Mr. Kemdi Opara, governorship candidate for the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the off-cycle election scheduled for November 11 in Imo State, has voiced his displeasure with the state’s current crop of leaders.
On Sunday in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, Opara made this claim during an open discussion with media on the state’s future.
Opara said he decided to run for governor in the upcoming election not to profit himself, but to create a generational revolution, when asked about his political platform and plans to change the State.
While blaming the existing government’s poor leadership for the State’s security crisis, he argued that YPP offers a fresh perspective on governing.
He stressed the YPP’s dedication to improving governance and resolving problems in Imo State.
He went on to say that replacing the existing administration with a party that represents a new generation of leaders who are devoted to serving the people and promoting development is the most practical method to remove insecurity in the State.
Like Peter Obi before me, I will promote Imo State outside of Nigeria.
Saying, “I am not here to enrich myself, but to bring a generational transformation; my government will be constituted by young minds, so it is not about money but to make a great change in Imo State,” he emphasized that his motivation was not financial.
