The impeachment process against Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, has officially begun with the service of a letter outlining allegations of misconduct from the state’s House of Assembly.
The Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Speaker of the House of Assembly, told reporters in Akure on Monday that Aiyedatiwa was served by substituted service today.
According to NAN, during Wednesday’s plenary session, the Ondo State House of Assembly instructed the Clerk to write the deputy governor on charges of egregious misconduct.

According to Oladiji, the House had been trying to figure out how to serve Aiyedatiwa with the notice since Wednesday, September 20 but had been unable until it went through the court.
We were able to serve him at his place of business after obtaining an affidavit from the court via substituted service. His assistant got the message.
Although I am receiving threats and messages from those who wish to silence me, I am not feeling any actual pressure. He explained that this was a legislative task.
The Speaker also claimed on Monday that he had received a death threat, claiming that fetish objects had been left at the entrance to his official residence.
He urged the state’s citizens and law enforcement to investigate and find those responsible.
“As I was preparing to leave my lodge quite early this morning, I spotted a strange object in the street. The day we began impeachment proceedings was the first day we received these threats. Odd phone calls keep coming to me.
My life has also been seriously threatened by mysterious parties. I’m appealing to the good people of Ondo State and the security forces there to help me find them.
