The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) that holding political office does not guarantee victory in an election.
The party made the statement while reacting to the political situation in the country and the growing preparations for the 2027 general elections.

ADC said incumbency should not be viewed as an automatic advantage, stressing that voters ultimately determine the outcome of elections.
The party urged the APC and other political parties in government to focus on delivering good governance and addressing the concerns of Nigerians rather than relying solely on the advantages of incumbency.
It maintained that citizens were increasingly interested in accountability, economic development, security and improved living conditions.
ADC also called on opposition parties to strengthen their structures and mobilise voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party said a credible and competitive election would provide Nigerians with the opportunity to freely choose their preferred leaders.
It urged political actors to respect the electorate and avoid actions capable of undermining the democratic process.
ADC maintained that the outcome of the 2027 elections would ultimately be determined by voters and not by the political status of candidates or parties.
The party called on Nigerians to remain politically active and participate fully in the electoral process.
