The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of planning to rig the 2019 elections in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Vanguard, Secondus said the electoral body has prepared special card readers and result sheets for APC.
The PDP chairman said this while speaking with the election team of the Economic Community of West Africa states (ECOWAS).
Secondus also warned the chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu against the manipulation of the 2019 elections.
The PDP chairman said that it will be a ‘recipe for crisis’, and Yakubu will be held responsible.
Secondus also said that history will be unkind to the INEC boss if he fails to conduct free and fair elections in 2019.
He also said “They have finished their rigging arrangements with preloaded cards and special election result sheets all doctored to Favour the ruling APC.
“The INEC chairman has no strong will to follow our electoral laws and constitution as well as the laid down international standards in his processes towards 2019 and we want to let the World know this before it happens.
“They have finished plots to isolate states of Kano, Benue, Rivers, Buachi, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Imo and Kwara and Lagos for disruption during the general election so they can plan well to mobilize the rigging.”
The PDP also accused APC of planning to block bank accounts belonging to its members so as to frustrate the flow of funds during campaigns for the upcoming general elections.
