The police authorities on Wednesday announced that it would be conducting a mock security exercise in Abuja on Thursday.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu said:
“This is to inform members of the public that the Nigeria Police Force, in conjunction with other security agencies will carry out a mock security exercise at the Garki Mall, Abuja, on Thursday 27th November, 2014 from 8.00am to 6.00pm.
“This exercise is a mock drill, necessitated by the prevailing security situation. Abuja residents and visitors will witness a massive movement of law enforcement assets and personnel to and from different locations of the capital city and the site of the exercise.
“The public is enjoined not to entertain any fear as the exercise is purely a mock practice, and no harm is intended please”.
