Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has begged his boys to have more belief in their abilities after a goalless draw with Juventus.
He said: “In the first 20 minutes we held the ball well up to the edge of the area, but there were moments in the second half where we have lost a few too many balls for our quality.
“When you come to this stage and you cannot score a goal and you take a point, that’s fine, but we have to hurry up and understand that we’ve earned this level of our potential. We must be aware that if we are here it is because we have deserved it.
“We must not lower the level of anger, because in some moments we have lacked the malice to go and hurt and seemed to be content with the phase of possession.
“We needed more determination to understand what could be the right opportunity. In addition to receiving the compliments for never losing, we have to analyse because we have not won all [our matches].
“Tonight we have not expressed all our qualities and we must be aware otherwise in the Italian league it becomes difficult to aspire to the maximum.”
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was frustrated not to have won but praised the attitude of his players.
In quotes reported on Gazzetta dello Sport, Allegri said: “I have to congratulate the guys, [Inter] only did a shot at the end with [Marcelo] Brozovic.
“I’m sorry not to have won, but the attitude is important. It was only the goal [we were missing], and even in the first half we had that opportunity immediately with [Mario] Mandzukic.”
