The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has issued a strong warning against vote-buying in the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, set for Saturday.
IPAC Chairman Yusuf Dantalle delivered the warning during a stakeholders’ voter sensitization event in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to maintain neutrality and impartiality throughout the electoral process, ensuring a fair environment for all political parties and candidates.

Dantalle called on all stakeholders to uphold democratic principles, respect the rights of others, and prioritize the interests of the people of Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Your roles are critical in maintaining the trust and confidence of the electorate.
We need to see neutrality from respective institutions to promote our nascent democracy,” Dantalle stated.
Emphasizing the peaceful nature of the electoral process, he added, “An election is not war! It is simply a democratic exercise to select leaders who will promote good governance, accountability, and development.
As stakeholders, we must prioritize peace, equity, and justice, working together to foster an environment conducive to credible elections.”
The IPAC leader’s remarks underscore the council’s commitment to a transparent and fair election, urging all parties involved to work collectively towards a peaceful and democratic outcome.
