Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that no leader holds power indefinitely, insisting that his eventual victory is certain despite his current political travails.
Speaking during a gathering in Bonny, Fubara expressed confidence that justice would prevail, asserting that he remains steadfast and undeterred amid the ongoing crisis that led to his suspension.
“Everybody will not appreciate your style, but when you know what you are doing is right, you are sure that in 25 to 30 years, if placed in any box and asked a question, you can defend your action — that’s what makes you a man,” Fubara said.

“No king lives forever, that’s the truth, and no authority lasts forever.
But what is important is that within the period you are in power or when you reigned, you did wonderful things that will speak forever.”
Addressing accusations against him, the embattled governor stated, “Some people accuse me of many things, but the truth is that I can’t be what I’m not. I can only be myself.”
He urged his supporters to remain resolute, adding that temporary setbacks are sometimes necessary to achieve lasting victories.
“At times, you need to lose to win. For me and anybody who believes in me, I have never considered myself as losing anything,” he said. “I know that at the end of the day, our winning will come to us because we are standing on a solid rock.”
Fubara was suspended in March following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, after a protracted political rift with his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The President appointed a Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, to oversee the state’s affairs during Fubara’s six-month suspension.
Since his suspension, Fubara has met twice with President Tinubu and Wike in attempts at reconciliation.
