Yesterday, July 11, 2016 Nigerian singer, Iyanya was called out by a promoter, Don Demoe for unpaid dues.
Iyanya who had just ended his tour of the United States of America took to Instagram, yesterday thanking fans for their unwavering support. “Thank you to everyone who came out..US tour done,” he wrote. Immediately promoter and business consultant, Don Demoe called out the “Oreo” hitmaker for not paying his hotel bills.
According to him, Iyanya refused to pay his hotel bills at the Hilton and has been living off promoters. He revealed the crooner hasn’t paid his bills since July 4 this year and he’s tired of covering for him. “It’s Iyanya, please pay your hotel bills at the Hilton and stop living off the same promoters you call broke. You haven’t paid your hotel bill since Monday July 4th and I’m tired of carrying you. Pay your bills as a big boy celebrity,” he wrote.
Iyanya has however cleared the air on the debt allegation levelled against him. He took to Instagram yesterday sharing a proof of payment from the hotel writing, “When haters try to make blessed people like me look bad please get your facts right.thanks call Allison Schaefer for facts 713 974 1000.”
Recall that we reached out to a representative of the singer for his side of the story. According to her they couldn’t confirm or deny the story. “I can’t confirm and deny the allegations,” she said.
We’ve also reached out to Don Demoe who said he’s ready to share his own side of the story with us.
Meanwhile, Iyanya has announced he will be launching a new record label and album soon.
