On the fringes of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar met with his Mexican colleague Alicia Barcena Ibarra on Sunday.
Relations between India and Mexico have been constantly warm and amicable, marked by mutual understanding, expanding bilateral trade, and general cooperation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that the two nations share many similarities, including being large rising economies with similar socio-economic development aspirations and restrictions, and having democratic, secular, and pluralistic systems as well as convergent worldviews.

In addition to meeting with the Cambodian prime minister and the foreign ministers of Guinea Bissau, Cyprus, Uganda, and Egypt, Jaishankar had earlier bilateral discussions with these leaders at the UNGA conference in New York.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan and his counterpart met one-on-one to discuss bilaterally regional, multilateral, and global cooperation.
On September 26, Jaishankar will deliver a speech to the United Nations General Assembly as part of a week-long visit to New York as the head of an Indian delegation.
