Juventus claimed another consecutive Serie A title, were victorious in the Coppa Italia, and have the chance to cap off a stunning season by winning the Champions League in next week’s final against Real Madrid.
But it seems as though the Bianconeri already thinking about summer transfer plans, and they are now being linked with a move for Monaco’s Fabinho.
The 23-year old, who can play as a right-back or as a holding midfielder, has been in excellent form for title-winning Monaco this season, and has attracted strong interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City.
There were reports from Spain that suggested Atletico Madrid had joined the race for the Brazilian, and now Calcio Mercato, via Football Italia are reporting that Juventus are keen on a move.
Lyon’s Corentin Tolisso has been the rumoured top target for Juventus but the talk is that links have died down with the Frenchman, and Juve may view Fabinho as an alternative – with his versatility potentially a big factor.
Reports in Italy say that Juventus were patiently waiting for the right moment and will table an offer of €30 million (£25 million) plus add-ons for the former Real Madrid loanee.
Fabinho is one of a number of Leonardo Jardim’s exciting side to be linked with a summer exit, along with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy, Thomas Lemar and Tieumou Bakayoko.
And he’d be a fine addition to Juventus, whose first choice midfield options are immensely strong but aren’t particularly impressive beyond the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira and Claudio Marchisio.
Fabinho, who scored 12 goals and contributed further with six assists in 2016/17, could also be a potential long-term replacement for Dani Alves at right-back, should Juventus see his value there.
