The front page of Italian daily Corriere dello Sport asks the question: could Zlatan Ibrahimovic return to Italy?
Ibra is once again a free agent having seen his contract at Old Trafford expire.
At the start of June, Man United officially announced that they had parted ways with Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Zlatan was sensational for Man United in his one year in the Premier League.
He scored 17 goals in 27 EPL games, 28 goals in all competitions, while the Red Devils won the League Cup (he scored a brace in the final) and the Europa League.
Ibra’s campaign was cut short by an ACL injury picked up against Anderlecht in the Europa League. He’s since travelled to America for surgery on his knee, and he appears to be making a remarkable recovery.
Earlier in the week, rumours spread that Ibra believes he’ll be back in action by November.
Corriere dello Sport, however, accused Man United of “treachery”.
It’s unclear exactly what wrong the Red Devils stand accused of towards the Swedish superstar, as it’s clear Man United are doing everything possible to help the striker in his recovery.
Indeed, a picture appeared on social media on Thursday of Zlatan back in Man United gear as it’s been revealed the Swede is back at Carrington working on his fitness.
Corriere dello Sport report that fans of Juventus, Roma, AC Milan, Lazio, Napoil and Inter are all dreaming of having Zlatan at their club next season.
Ibra has previously played for Juve, Inter and AC Milan.
CdS describe signing Ibra as “an excellent opportunity with no cost”, and they points out that “all of the major Italian clubs” would sign Zlatan.
