The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has announced its readiness to join a wider political coalition aimed at dislodging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the state and national levels.
The declaration was made on Saturday during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Birnin Kebbi, where party leaders reaffirmed their commitment to revamping the PDP’s structure and resolving lingering internal disputes.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, State PDP Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim Mera, said the party had agreed to support any credible alliance capable of mounting an effective challenge to the APC’s dominance.

He added that members also resolved to push for the early conduct of the state congress, pending approval by the party’s national leadership.
Dr. Mera urged Kebbi residents to stay hopeful despite the current economic challenges, assuring them that meaningful relief would come with the emergence of accountable leadership.
Also speaking at the meeting, the PDP’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate, General Aminu Bande (rtd), lambasted the APC-led administration for worsening the economic situation in the state.
He further accused the government of targeting opposition figures instead of focusing on governance and development.
