Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has dismissed the newly unveiled All Democratic Alliance (ADA), describing it as neither a coalition of political forces nor a proper merger.
Keyamo made this assertion in a post via his official X handle on Friday while reacting to reports on the emergence of ADA, which is backed by the Nigerian National Coalition Group (NNCG).
InfoStride News reports that opposition leaders under the coalition movement formally applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the registration of ADA ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The application, dated June 19, 2025, and addressed to the INEC Chairman, was jointly signed by ADA’s National Chairman, Akin Ricketts, and Pro tem National Secretary, Abdullahi Musa Elayo.
The new political arrangement is said to enjoy the support of notable politicians, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
However, Keyamo dismissed the development as a failed attempt to replicate the 2013 coalition that birthed the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that no existing political party has endorsed or joined the ADA project.
“This is just a simple application for party registration. There is nothing like a ‘coalition’ here,” Keyamo wrote.
He added, “It is an unnecessary hype the promoters have been struggling to create all along. It is just psychological warfare against Nigerians—a weak attempt at mass appeal.”
The minister further ridiculed the group’s ambition, calling it a “pedestrian joke” and “a complete mockery” of the political alliance that formed the APC.
“A few individuals exercising their constitutional right to form a new political party cannot be described as a ‘coalition’ or even a ‘merger.’
“This is no different from several political associations springing up every day for the same purpose,” he said.
Keyamo concluded that despite the media buzz surrounding ADA, it was merely an ordinary effort by a small group of Nigerians to register a new party and not the seismic political realignment its promoters had implied.
