Ex Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United forward, Garth Crooks has said Sadio Mane is the one carrying Liverpool this season.
In just 14 games so far, Mane has netted nine goals and provided 3 assists and 2 days ago, he also helped Liverpool to seal maximum points against Tottenham
The Senegalese won his team a penalty after he was fouled by Serge Aurier, which Salah scored for the match-winner that ensured Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the EPL.
Speaking recently, Crooks believes Liverpool has Mane to thank for their amazing form this season.
His words, “Two seasons ago it was Mo Salah who was carrying Liverpool. Last season it was Virgil van Dijk who had a massive influence on the success of the team,”
“This season it’s Sadio Mane who is carrying Liverpool on his shoulders. His speed, power and strength have been a feature of Liverpool’s play this season and without the Senegal international, life at the top would be considerably less comfortable.
“It was Mane who caused mayhem in Tottenham’s ranks the entire match and the reason they lost. With a little help from Serge Aurier, of course.”

Sadio Mané (born 10 April 1992) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Liverpool and the Senegal national team.
Having begun his career with Metz in France, he transferred to Red Bull Salzburg in 2012. After winning the Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup in 2014, he was signed by Southampton. In 2015, Mané set a new Premier League record for the fastest hat-trick when he scored three times in 176 seconds during a 6–1 win over Aston Villa. He transferred to Liverpool in 2016 for a fee of £34 million, making him the most expensive African player in history at that time. Since joining Liverpool, Mané among other achievements scored in the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final. The following season he was joint recipient of the Premier League Golden Boot with 22 goals, and was part of the Liverpool team that won the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final. In 2019, he made the 10 man shortlist for The Best FIFA Men’s Player, ultimately finishing 5th in the voting.
Mané has earned over 60 caps for Senegal since his debut in 2012, and represented the national team at the 2012 Olympics, the 2015, 2017 and 2019 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Mané pursued a career in football despite his father forbidding him from playing the sport as a child. He currently resides in Allerton and has been burgled twice, once in November 2017 and again in February 2019. He is a practising Muslim and occasionally is seen making du’a before the start of each match.
