L-3 Applied Optics Center (AOC) Develops Enhanced Gold Coating for Large-Format Substrates
L-3 AOC will be available to discuss highly reflective metalized optical thin films at booth #2401 Photonics West 2014, Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA, Feb. 4 – 6, 2014.
L-3 AOC offers the enhanced gold coatings on optical elements in excess of 350 mm in diameter. Other AOC products in development include highly-specialized reflective metalized films such as protected silver, aluminum, silicon carbide, and a wide range of metal oxides for commercial and military applications.
AOC’s new family of reflective coatings can be designed in accordance with specific customer requirements to maximize wavelength-specific performance, from the deep ultraviolet (UV) to the far infrared (IR). In addition, these metallic coatings are designed in accordance with stringent customer requirements for durability and environmental stability.
Jim Hooker, Director of Business Development for L-3 Communications Applied Optics Center, notes, “We are proud to announce the introduction of this extremely challenging, enhanced gold coating for large-format, strategic imaging applications. This is yet another addition to our increasingly broad line of high-value, precise and highly specialized thin-films for critical commercial and military applications, where optical performance and durability are key design parameters.”
Applied Optics Center designs and manufactures a broad array of reflective metalized films for applications where high reflectance and superior durability are required.
