Panic has gripped residents of Ori-Ohin community in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State after lightning struck and killed eight cows during a heavy downpour on Sunday evening.
The tragic incident, reported by Channels Television, has left villagers alarmed, as they grapple with the unusual natural occurrence.
Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, describing it as unfortunate but purely natural.

He noted that the police had reached out to community leaders to maintain calm and prevent any misunderstanding or unrest that could arise from the incident.
“This is a natural occurrence, and we are working closely with the community heads to ensure that peace is maintained,” Ayanlade stated.
