Sunday night had a number of standout moments due to the 60th annual Grammy Awards. Bruno Mars won big, SZA got arguably snubbed and Blue Ivy was doing the absolute most, being the cutest thing in the audience and apparently the most tweeted about celeb during the whole event.
But across the country, over in Las Vegas to be precise, Lil Wayne was making musical headlines for other reasons. The seasoned entertainer skipped the Grammys all together and played what we would describe as nothing short of a memorable set at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
The event, which brings porn’s biggest names under one roof to mix and mingle with their fans, has taken place in Vegas since 2012, but this was the 35th AVN awards to date. This year was accented by a headlining performance from “Lollipop” rapper Lil Wayne, accompanied by dozens of dancing and enthusiastic porn entertainers.
Wayne had a staggering 20-minute-long showcase performance accenting some of his greatest ass-shaking hits, including “I’m Going In” before switching to “Got Money,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “Lollipop,” “A Milli” and “Mrs. Officer.” It wasn’t until the performance of “Pop That,” however, when nearly 40 adult film stars took to the stage to, you know, pop that.
The AVN has zero-d in on its audience in a great way over the years, inviting a number of hip-hop artists to take the stage during the event, including rapper Chingy in 2005, Too $hort in 2012, former Young Money artist Tyga in 2013, Machine Gun Kelly in 2014, Rae Sremmurd in 2015 and Waka Flocka Flame in 2016.
