“Nolly Thursdays” which has been described as the new Industry Night” for the Nigerian film industry, is geared towards promoting and celebrating Nollywood movies (old and new) in the cinema.
The next edition of the event is set to hold on Thursday, June 9, 2016, with Linda Ejiofor and Kehinde Bankole headlining. The duo’s latest movie “8 Bars and a Clef” will also screen at event.
Kehinde Bankole is a Nigerian actress, model and television host. She was born as the fourth child in a family of six with her twin sister who also acts occasionally. She studied Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University. Kehinde made her entertainment debut in the 2003 Miss Commonwealth Nigeria beauty contest, then proceeded to the 2004 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant.
She won the revelation of the year award at the 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards, two years after her first screen feature in Wale Adenuga’s Super story. She has featured in numerous movies like “Awakening,” “Two brides and a baby” (2011), “The Meeting” (2012) and “October1″ (2014).
Linda Ejiofor is an actress and model known for her role as Bimpe Adekoya in M-Net’s TV series “Tinsel.” She was nominated in the category Best Actress in a Supporting role for her first feature film, “The Meeting” (2012), at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards and won the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award for role in 2015.
Linda has featured in films like “The Meeting” (2012), “Secret Room” (2013), “Heaven’s Hell” (2015), “Suru l’ere” (2015) among others.
“8 Bars and a Clef” is a story about a young man who has to overcome a learning defect, a dysfunctional family and an overbearing record label executive in order to achieve his dream of becoming a music superstar.
Nolly Thursdays will air on TrybeTv(GoTVngCh.97) by 5:30pm and ONTV(UHF Ch.41, GoTV Ch.96) by 7:30pm.
