Manchester United may have beaten West Brom 2-0 on Saturday but the game undoubtedly turned on the opener from Jesse Lingard.
.
The Baggies played defensively for much of the
encounter and Louis van Gaal’s side had to work hard to break Tony Pulis’ team down.
.
Once again, Manchester United youngster Jesse
Lingard proved the difference, having once again
been started in the first team.
.
In midweek, Lingard had set up Wayne Rooney for
the winner against CSKA Moscow and the academy
product kept out the likes of Memphis Depay for the
clash against West Brom.
.
After the West Brom win, Lingard posted on
Instagram and explained his goal celebration with
Daley Blind.
.
Lingard was acting out a moment from the famous
American football film Any Given Sunday and seems
to be a huge fan of Willie Beamen!
.
Manchester United are now a point behind Premier
League leaders Manchester City, having played one game more.
.
Proud to get my 1st goal for the club, most
importantly we got the 3 points. The celebration was
from the film any given sunday. STEAMIN WILLIE
