The Bulls are not prepared to let go of their Guinean star midfielder head of their maiden Champions League season
Liverpool’s hunt for RB Leipzig’s midfielder Naby Keita could be coming to a halt according to German football expert Raphael Honigstein.
The German pundit suggested that Leipzig’s price tag on the Guinean international, close to £70million, was a hint that the Bundesliga side is not prepared to sell the player.
Keita had a breakout season for the German side and was one of their standout players.
Despite playing in a deeper role, the 22-year-old Conakry-born notched eight goals and seven assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances.
Due to the midfielder’s dynamic displays, has been compared to N’Golo Kante whilst he has also inherited the nickname Deco, after the former Barcelona and Portugal legend who possessed similar attributes.
Honigstein posted a tweet regarding the Reds’ pursuit of Keita claiming that it won’t be fruitful, despite the player’s eagerness, as the Bundesliga side are pricing all the clubs out for Keita.
Die Bullen are also expected to make their debut Champions League campaign in the new season after finishing second in the German top tier last campaign.
