Barcelona winger Cristian Tello has offered hope to long-term suitors Liverpool, by revealing that he’ll consider his future at the end of the season, reports talkSPORT.
.
The 22-year-old has been forced to bat away constant rumours about his transfer intentions, but denied that he’s looking to leave Camp Nou this month, despite falling down the first-team pecking order.
.
“The most important thing is to play, get time on the pitch and work hard,” Tello is quoted by Sky Sports, telling Barcelona’s official website.
.
“You always have to give the best of yourself and take advantage of your opportunities. “I’m happy here.
.
“I’m not playing as much as I did last year, but I’m not giving up.”
.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been credited with an interest in bringing Tello to Anfield, but he won’t get his wish during the January transfer window, after the Spaniard reiterated his commitment to Barcelona for the remainder of the 2013/14 campaign.
.
“I will definitely stay at Barcelona until June, then we will see in the summer,” he told Spanish newspaper Marca.
.
Tello has made just 16 appearances – and four starts – in all competitions for Barcelona this term, under the new stewardship of Argentine manager Gerardo Martino.
.
However, he remains under contract with the Primera Division giants until 2018, meaning Liverpool must meet the Catalan club’s valuation, which is believed to be around £10million.
