Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of Lucas Moura in the summer.
Sport Witness has been informed by several sources that the Red Devils are entered in negotiations with the 24-year-old who they nearly signed back in 2012 under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Moura was being pursued by Europe’s elite after his brilliant performances for Sao Paolo, but United were unable to match the £40m offer tabled by the Parisiens.
Now, they look likely to get their man with the Brazilian unable to nail down a regular starting spot and Jose Mourinho desperate for a fast, skilful right winger.
The manager is eager to bolster his squad to compete in both the Premier League and Champions League next season and despite Chelsea’s Willian being his first-choice, Moura would be a brilliant acquisition.
Despite not starting on a regular basis in the French capital, the Brazilian winger has enjoyed a fruitful spell with the club, scoring 19 goals and recording six assists this season.
Able to play on either flank or as a number 10, Moura’s versatility would be crucial for Mourinho; PSG are aiming to retrieve much of the £40m they initially paid if they are to sell.
Atletico Madrid and Liverpool have both expressed an interest in the 24-year-old as Unai Emery’s side look to potentially start a bidding war.
Reports suggest that Moura could be happy in Paris alongside fellow Brazilians Thiago Silva and Marquinhos, however, if the club are determined to sell in order to fund other moves, he will surely be moved on.
