    Man Arrested for Allegedly Raping 9-Year-Old Ate Daughter

    Hameed Ayinla, a 37-year-old man, has been arrested after he was alleged to have defiled his nine-year -old step daughter.

    Consequently, on Monday, the Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates ‘ Court in Lagos ordered the man to be held in a custodial unit.

    The man, Ayinla, has also been indicted by the police for defilement.

    Chief Magistrate F.M Kayode-Alamu, who did not consider Ayinla ‘s petition, ruled that he should be held at the Custodial Centre of Ikoyi. In addition, at the Ikeja Sexual and Domestic Abuse Court, the magistrate ordered the police to file the matter.

    Kayode-Alamu then adjourned the matter until December 10 for reference.

    Earlier, prosecutor Olu Olubiyi told the court that the crime was committed by Ayinla on September 13, at No. 6, Kunle Ojo St., Ori-Okuta, Owutu Ikorodu.
    He reported that the nine-year – old child, who is his step-daughter, defiled Ayinla.

    The crime, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Code , which provides for life imprisonment for convicts.
