A 43-year-old man, Raymond Mukaila, appeared in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, on Friday, facing charges of theft involving property and cash valued at N999,500.
Mukaila, who pleaded not guilty, is charged with stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Christian Okonofua, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence between February and March at Agbalumo, Oreyo in the Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.

According to Okonofua, the defendant stole several items including an aluminum frame valued at N286,000, an aluminum window worth N210,000, three pieces of flue master valued at N16,000, three seat covers worth N10,500, and an iron pole pillar valued at N22,000.
Additionally, Mukaila is accused of stealing a cash sum of N455,000 belonging to the complainant, Alhaja Kafilat Adebayo.
The prosecutor stated that the offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate O.A. Onalaja granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned until July 11 for mention.
