The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria has identified the continued closure of Nigeria land borders as a threat to the Nation’ economy.

The NMA said this through it’s national President, Mr Mansur Ahmed who reiterated that the land borders need to be urgently reopened and the re-establishment of the normal protocol and normal trade treaties.
Recall that the border was closed in August 2019 and that the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, recently stated the possibility of reopening the nation’ land borders.
In his words, the continued closure of land borders may affect manufacturers who export their goods through the land borders. Mr Mansur, identified the need for a regulatory framework to ensure the safe reopening of the borders.
Mr Mansur stated that the NMA has been negotiating with the Office of the National Security Adviser, ministries of trade and finance as well as various Nigerian agencies to ensure a safe reopening of land borders.
