Popular Nigerian lawyer and politician, Femi Fani-Kayode has jumped on social media to share his reaction to the arrest of Funke Akindele and her husband.
Fani Kayode believes that the arrest was not necessary and a warning would’ve been okay since she already apologized.
According to him, he also does not understand why the people who crowded the court were not punished since they broke the same law.
He added that her arrest was overbearing especially after she showed public remorse.
His words, “The prosecution & conviction of Funke Akindele was overbearing & unnecessary. A warning would have been enough. This is especially so after she publicly expressed remorse. The court was crowded. Why don’t they prosecute those that were there as well, including the magistrate?”
