Manchester United striker “Chicharito” is in advanced talks with Bayer Leverkusen.
According to Sky Sports, a deal in the region of £9m is currently been discussed by the two clubs but an agreement has yet to be reached.
Hernandez spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and scored nine goals in 33 appearances, starting 12 of those matches for the Los Merengues.
He has made three substitute appearances for coach Louis van Gaal’s side since arriving from the La Liga outfit this summer – two of those in the Uefa champions League play-offs win over Club Brugge and another in the league draw at Newcastle.
The Mexican striker moved to England from Guadalajara in 2010 and has scored 59 times in 157 games for United.
If Leverkusen are to see through a move for Hernandez, the paperwork must be completed by 6pm this evening, which is the official closing time of the German transfer window.
