Manchester City defender, Manuel Akanji has thrown in the towel on the club winning the title race. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if the current season is not finished yet and we are not even in 2025 as at now, Manchester City aren’t thinking about winning the title anymore.

Akanji added that he and his teammates will be focusing on only the next set of games henceforth.
His words, “The season is not finished but it’s not a target for us at the moment. We need to focus game by game and the next game against Leicester City will not be easy as well now, in the shape we are in. We need to focus on the positives. We did a lot of things great. We defended well and we attacked well, but were not able to finish as well as we wanted to or we could have scored three or four goals.”
WOW.
Pep Guardiola Sala is a Spanish professional football manager and former player who is currently managing Premier League club Manchester City. Guardiola is the only manager to win the continental treble twice, the youngest to win the UEFA Champions League, and he also holds the records for the most consecutive league games won in La Liga, the Bundesliga, and the Premier League.
