Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
The election, held at the union’s Zonal Secretariat along the Osogbo/Ikirun road in Osun State, took place on Saturday, with MC Oluomo running unopposed.
Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participated in the election. MC Oluomo, previously the NURTW chairman in Lagos State, now steps into the role of National President.
Following his oath of office, MC Oluomo emphasized the importance of unity and peace within the union, urging members to work together to protect their shared interests.
“I have forgiven everyone who has offended me and hope those I may have wronged will also forgive me,” he said.
“This is our union, and we must be dedicated to preserving it. We will not allow anyone to threaten our means of livelihood.”
His election marks a new chapter for the NURTW as he commits to fostering harmony and stability within the organization.
