Barcelona wonderkid, Lamine Yamal has come out to vow to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi by becoming a Golden Boy winner of the future. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, despite winning the ‘The Youngest’ award this year already, he would like the Golden Boy award as well because Messi also won it when he was much younger.

Yamal added that Lionel is his idol in football because he was a source of inspiration for him while growing up.
His words, “It’s an important award. The first I’ve received on an international level. I’d like to win the real one, the absolute best. I know about it, I saw who won it, even Messi, and I would like to be on that roll of honour. Sooner or later I’ll see you in Turin, I promise.
He is my idol. He always has been, he continues to be now that I play for Barcelona. He inspired me. I have never had another idol. I once took a photo with him. I was unknown. Maybe one day I will be like him.”
WOW.
