Malawi midfielder, John Banda has come out to say the country will play the game of their lives vs Morocco. He recently revealed this while speaking with the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if Malawi respects Morocco a lot as a footballing nation, they are definitely beatable and will not be feared.
John added that he has faced the country a couple of times already so he has an idea on the best way to play them.
His words, “All is well in camp, we travelled well from Bafoussam and have settled well in the new environment. To most of us, Yaounde is not new. We were here in 2018, for 2019 Afcon qualifiers and just four months ago for the World Cup qualifiers.”
“So we are very familiar with the venues and everything. The Morocco game is the biggest game of our lives and we are looking forward to it.”
“We respect Morocco but don’t fear them. We played them twice in the Afcon three years ago and I played in both matches. They are a beatable side with a proper game plan.”
On how long he intends to keep playing, “I hope many more years. I’ve still got until 2024 on my contract, which takes me to 34. I still feel sharp, I still feel quick.”
“I want the Champions League, I don’t want to finish my career without the Champions League.”
“The club deserves it with what we’ve achieved over the last years. Hopefully more Premier League titles and more silverware.”
“Personally, I just want to keep playing football for as long as I can. I’ve said it before, until my legs tell me I have to stop, then I’ll stop.”
