Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has said that the club should not overcelebrate qualifying for the Champions League next season. This comes after the 2-1 win over Brentford put the club on the brink of a return to Europe’s top competition.
Stating that he won’t be getting carried away if and when they get over the line, the English manager stressed that United should be more concerned about finishing higher up in the EPL.

Carrick added that Casemiro deserves praise for delivering consistently this season.
His words, “We’ve given ourselves a great chance, we’ve put ourselves in a big position.
It’s a tough league, it’s tough to get wins. You can see that throughout the league.
To get the amount of wins we’ve had. I think the lads have got to take a bit of credit for that.
The Champions League is one thing, but it’s not something that we should be over-celebrating either.
We want to be finishing high up the league really and we want to be challenging high up in the league and trying to get more points so our season doesn’t get to a close when that happens.”
On MUFC fans chanting “one more year” after Casemiro’s ninth goal of the season, he insisted that there’s no chance of a u-turn over the Brazilian’s decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
He added, “It’s pretty clear.
From both sides it’s pretty clear. Probably the situation and the clarity of it has helped everything.
It means a lot to him and credit to him because of the situation that it is, he’s given absolutely everything as well and had some big moments for us.”
WOW.
Manchester United Football Club, commonly referred to as Man United or simply United, is a professional football club based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top division in the English football league system.
Nicknamed the Red Devils, they were founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, but changed their name to Manchester United in 1902. After a spell playing in Clayton, Manchester, the club moved to their current stadium, Old Trafford, in 1910.
Alex Ferguson and his assistant Archie Knox arrived from Aberdeen on the day of Atkinson’s dismissal, and guided the club to an 11th-place finish in the league. Despite a second-place finish in 1987–88, the club was back in 11th place the following season. Reportedly on the verge of being dismissed, Ferguson’s job was saved by victory over Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup final.
The following season, Manchester United claimed their first UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title. That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992 the left and the right, but he’s not got any sense of danger yet, and empties the midfield area too readily.
