The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II has responded to the query issued him by the Kano State Government over alleged misappropriation of N3.4 billion.
The letter titled “Re-Report of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti–Corruption Commission”, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Kano, was sent to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The reply stated that when Muhammadu Sanusi was installed as the Emir of Kano, the precise amount in the accounts of the Emirate Council was N1,893,927.38 (One Billion Eight Hundred, Nine Hundred and Twenty Seven Naira, Thirty Eight Kobo) only.
The letter, though, revealed that Sanusi was not the Accounting Officer of the council but instead, the Secretary.
Sanusi was grateful for the chance had to share his own side of the story over the accusations in the query.
The Emir was granted 2 days to respond to the query before the state government decides to take action.
