For Kendrick Lamar’s fourth Nike sneaker collab he’ll once again be utilizing the iconic Nike Cortez silhouette, but this time he’s going for a simple, “house shoe” vibe. “House shoes have always been part of LA culture,” says Kendrick, according to Nike.
His intent with the Kenny IV was to retain the ease and comfort of the slipper, but also allow people to still feel sleek. “The shoe is all about being able to get up and just go out in style.”
The limited edition, laceless sneakers come in a white, wolf grey, turf orange and thunder blue colorway. Additional details include “House Shoes” text written down the strap of the tongue, and an adjustable lace toggle on the heel. Unlike some of Kendrick’s previous Nike sneaker collabs, the slip on Cortez will receive a more traditional retail release.
The Nike Cortez Kenny IV “House Shoe” ($100) releases at 10am ET this Sunday, October 14 via Nike SNKRS as well as select other Nike retailers, some of which will be releasing the kicks via raffle system. According to Sneaker News, shops like Titolo, Concepts, Hanon and Billy’s Tokyo will be among those receiving the House Shoes.
