Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has come out to say that Ronaldo and Messi’s struggles in recent years can be likened to Liverpool’s current dip in form. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, if players like Ronaldo and Messi can suffer confidence issues in recent years, it can happen to any footballer from time to time.
Klopp added that his players just have to know where their issues lie and fight to be back at their previous levels.
His words, “People can ask ‘how can it happen that these players are not full of confidence?’ But do you think Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment is at the top of his confidence levels? And he was for ages the best player in the world. Now it’s not going his way, and it is not exactly the same. It happens to all of us. Lionel Messi played last year last season where it was not exactly the same.”
“You have to work for it, you have to take the little things to make a step in the right direction and be ready for the moment when it’s back. In an individual sport you can fight yourself through it, but in a team sport you have to do it together and that makes it more complicated.”
