The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has declared that information has it that the Protein Shoppe, LLC has announced a voluntary withdrawal of all lots of Red-E Male Enhancement Tablets.

NAFDAC stated that the recall was as a result of analysis conducted by the Food and Drug Administration which revealed that the product contains undeclared sildenafil, a Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitor that is used to treat erectile dysfunction in males.
According to NAFDAC sildenafil is an active ingredient in a different drug approved by the Food and Drug Authority but was not approved as an active ingredient in Red-E formulation.
NAFDAC explained that Red-E (Male Enhancement tablet, is a male enhancement nutritional supplement, the product is has an octagonal shape with “Red” embossed on either side of the score line on one side of the tablet, contained in small plastic bag with a black label stapled to it.
In view of this NAFDAC has charged importers, distributors, healthcare providers and consumers to stop the importation, distribution, sale and use of the Red-E Male Enhancement Tablets.
NAFDAC therefore urged Healthcare professionals and consumers to report adverse effects related to the use of the product to the nearest NAFDAC office.
