The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate at the April 11 election in Nasarawa State, Mr. Labaran Maku, has declared that he would not give up in reclaiming his stolen mandate at higher courts.
The former Minister of Information was reacting to the judgment of the Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s Judgment of Wednesday, which upheld the victory of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of the All Progressives Congress.
Speaking to journalists in Akwanga, Maku described the judgment as “a judicial endorsement of a day light robbery”.
He said, “Every effort was made by the tribunal to ensure that the respondents emerged victorious at the court and this I must say is very shocking, especially in this period of change.
“Everywhere in the state, people are weeping because this wasn’t the judgment they expected from the tribunal. They are tired of the bloodshed and unpaid salaries.
“Al-Makura goes around in the state with soldiers because he is not popular amongst his people, and that shows the posture of an impostor.
“We will continue to pursue the robbers from station to station until they drop this mandate. You can see there is no celebration because they know it is not yet over”.
The APGA candidate, however, urged his supporters to remain calm and peaceful through the process of reclaiming his mandate.
