The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has approved the 2024 Appropriation Bill presented by Governor Abdullahi Sule, totaling N199.9 billion.
During the House proceedings in Lafia, the state capital, Speaker Danladi Jatau announced the passage of the budget.
Out of the total amount, N117,138,350,954.18 is allocated for Recurrent Expenditure, while N82,741,019,755.25 is earmarked for Capital Expenditure.

In his statement, Speaker Jatau remarked, “The 2024 Appropriation Bill is read for the third term and passed.”
He commended the house for its dedication to the swift passage of the bill and highlighted the cooperation between the different arms of government as a positive sign for the state’s development.
“We will continue to work in synergy with the state government for the overall development of the state,” Jatau added.
The Speaker urged the state government to ensure the full implementation of the budget upon the governor’s assent.
He directed the Clerk of the House to prepare a clean copy of the bill for formal approval by the governor.
The Majority Leader of the House, Suleiman Azara, moved a motion for the bill’s passage into law, which was seconded by the Minority Leader, Luka Zhekaba.
