Office of the Head of the Civil Service Reports
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Bukar Goni Aji will on Friday, 28th of February, 2014 preside over the 38th Meeting of the National Council on Establishments holding in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The meeting which commenced with the technical preparation for the council meeting in Ilorin on Monday, 24th of February, 2014 was declared open by the Kwara State Head of Service, Dabarako Mohammed who called on the Permanent Secretaries of Establishments and Management Services to come up with proposals and recommendations that would bring about the desired efficiency and effectiveness in the public service for better service delivery. Adding, forty memoranda are expected to be deliberated upon.
The Kwara State Head of Service, Dabarako Mohammed said that with the presence of long serving technocrats who have the knowledge, skills and experience, he is optimistic that the 38th meeting would not only pragmatically deal with all issues that would be brought before it, but also have recommendations that will assist the council members to take far-reaching decisions in the overall interest of the country’s public service.
Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mohammed Abbas revealed the forty memoranda to be deliberated upon to include: the outcome of issues referred to the standing committee from the 37th council meeting in Awka of Anambra State in March 2013; the decision of the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council as well as fresh memoranda from relevant stakeholders.
