Unknown gunmen has kidnapped the National Treasurer of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association (PTD), Abdullahi Haruna, in Kaduna.
According to family sources, the suspected kidnappers invaded Haruna’s residence, near Bibal Hospital in Tudun Wada Area of Kaduna metropolis, Friday night and whisked him away at gun point.
Former PTD chairman in Kaduna state, Mr Nuhu Mohammed wh has close ties with the victim, linked Haruna’s abduction to his intention to contest for the PTD chairmanship position of Kaduna refinery branch, which would take place in a couple of weeks. He therefore appealed to security agencies to track down the kidnappers and ensure that Haruna is rescued alive.
Confirming the incident, Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu said there was no demand for ransom yet from the kidnappers, but the Police had already commenced a manhunt of the kidnappers.
