President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday met behind closed doors with the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele at the Presidential Villa.
The visit was Emefiele’s first since he assumed office on Tuesday as head of the country’s apex bank.
He, however, declined State House correspondents’ request to disclose the purpose of his meeting with the president that reportedly lasted for about one hour.
Nonetheless, it was gathered that his visit was to present his new agenda for the economy and the banking sector to the president, ahead of his press briefing on Thursday (today) where he would unveil his plans.
