President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has revealed the federation’s plan to get all Nigerian players making waves in diaspora to come and represent their father land.
.
Pinnick told Complete Sports in Abuja that there are so many Nigerian born football players scattered all over Europe who are willing to play for Super Eagles but have yet to be contacted by any one.
.
The NFF boss said players like Jordon Ibe who plays for Liverpool, Dele Alli of MK Dons, Chuba Akpom of Arsenal and a host of upcoming players in Germany and other parts of Europe.
.
“Jordon Ibe and Akpom have been particularly brilliant for their respective clubs in the English Premier League and we at the NFF have begun moves to convince them to play for Nigeria. We are determined to bring all of them back.
.
“I will personally ensure that all good footballers with Nigerian parentage playing abroad will be given the chance to play for our senior or junior teams. Those whom we have lost to other countries are enough, we won’t allow such to happen again” stated the 45-year old football administrator.
.
He disclosed that watching some of these players waste away after hurriedly being capped by their adopted countries angers him to the extent that he has resolved to fight that worm that is depriving Africa the use of their good players in Europe.
