Shehu Sani, a former senator, has asked President Bola Tinubu not to use Niger Republic’s energy supply as a weapon while dealing with the country’s current leadership crisis.
According to Sani, the President needs to be wary of becoming the new pupil of French neo-Colonialism in the ECOWAS sub-region.
The social critic tweeted on Sunday that Nigeria shouldn’t act as the West African “vigilante” against imperialism.
He advocated for Nigeria to grab the opportunity for a more autonomous West Africa.
He urged President Tinubu not to use Niger Republic’s power grid as a weapon. Nigeria shouldn’t act as West Africa’s imperialist vigilante. It is important that the President not become the new pupil of French neo-colonialism in our region. We must seize this opportunity for a new, independent West Africa by abolishing the CFA franc, the CEDI, and the Naira, and replacing them with a single West African currency.
