The Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, in Abuja, has assured foreign investors willing to do business in Nigeria of a conducive working environment. He gave the assurance while addressing the Management of a Japanese company, Koica at the conference room of the Ministry. Shittu said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is interested in attracting foreign investments into the country, adding that the era of impunity in business transaction is gone.
The minister averred that the Japanese company can engage in business worth over $200m (Two Hundred Million Dollars). He also inferred that it is incumbent on them to respect the laws of the land, promising that his ministry would mobilise its agencies to work in close concert with them. The Minister enjoined them to train Nigerian youths on basic technical rudiments to enable them contribute to their growth. He further advised them to give appropriate priority to corporate social responsibilities.
In his remarks at the event, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Sonny Echono thanked the Koica Team with an assurance that the Ministry would avail them the opportunities to successfully do business in the country. [FMC]
