The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it will commence annual recruitment exercises as part of efforts to improve manpower development and make its employment process more predictable.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed this while announcing the release of the final list of successful candidates for the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.
According to him, the service has adopted a new recruitment policy that will see qualified Nigerians given the opportunity to apply for employment every year instead of waiting for irregular recruitment exercises.
Adeniyi said the 2026 recruitment process would begin later this year and would be concluded within the same calendar year to ensure a more efficient and transparent exercise.
He explained that the new approach would enhance workforce planning, improve operational efficiency and provide greater opportunities for young Nigerians seeking careers in the Nigeria Customs Service.
The Comptroller-General also announced that 3,852 applicants were successful in the recently concluded 2024/2025 recruitment exercise out of the 573,680 applications received nationwide.
He noted that the successful candidates were recruited into the Superintendent, Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres after completing the required screening and selection processes.
Adeniyi reaffirmed the service’s commitment to conducting transparent, merit-based recruitment while urging prospective applicants to rely only on official communication channels for information on future recruitment exercises.
