    Nigerian Police Arrests Bandits, Kidnappers in Abuja

    On Wednesday, September 30, the Nigerian Police Force paraded several alleged kidnappers, robbers and armed bandits detained at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office in Abuja in various states.

    Among those paraded were seven armed robbery suspects connected to a deadly assault on a bullion van in the state of Ebonyi that claimed the lives of four policemen on 29 July 2020.

    46-year-old Sunday Shoyemi, the gang leader, said it took them two days to plan the attack on the bullion van and their arrest was, however, caused by small disagreements among members of his team.

    On September 30, 2020, at the Nigerian Police Force Special Anti-Robbery Squad headquarters in Abuja, several alleged criminals covered their faces.

    In Bayelsa State, Shoyemi, who used to be a fisherman, said it was his first robbery, and he regretted all his actions.
